Her anxiety became worst, fast. She started clawing at nearly every door way and window when we would leave. It came to the point where we took her to the vet to find out what her deal was! They told us she has a severe case of separation anxiety. They gave us Prozac for every morning and night and Xanax for the times she's left alone. The Xanax worked for maybe a week or two, but then the destruction started up again.
For about 4 months we were paying somebody to stay at our house with her until someone was home. That became costly on my parents, so it was time to consider another option.... Adoption. We became attached to this dog and it broke our hearts to think that we have to give her away.
She spent one afternoon at Pet Supplies Plus looking for a new home.
There wasn't a great amount of traffic coming through that day that was interested in adopting... So she came home with us.
There is a dog camp called Camp Bow Bow right down the street from us. So we looked into it and found it to be only $25 a day to take her there. Not bad considering what we were paying for someone to come to the house.
Abby had her first day today and LOVED it! She did so well and momma is proud. She got 5 stars for today and a free pass to come back! She even made friends :) so happy we've found something so we don't have to let our beloved pup leave us.
And the poor thing is whipped. She was so tired she actually laid down in the car on the way home rather than standing on the center counsel to look out.
Then she had a little snack before crashing on the couch :)
